How she gets to know you
How LAura gets to know you.
What she keeps from a conversation, when she brings it back, and what she will not do with it.
From a conversation to a memory.
1You talk. When a conversation ends, she notes the people, places and moments you mentioned.
2Your words and her guesses are kept apart. What you told her stays marked as yours. Anything she pieced together herself is marked as a guess.
3You can look.On iPhone, with a plan, a screen called What LAura knows shows what she holds about you.
4You can correct it or remove it.Change how she describes something, or ask her to forget it. Once forgotten, it stops shaping your conversations from your next message. If it comes up again naturally later, she can learn it again.
When she brings something back.
Only your own words, as plain fact. She is built so that when she brings a detail back as a plain fact, it is something you told her yourself.
What she only read between the lines stays unsaid. If she picked something up that you never actually said, she does not say it back to you and does not show it as a memory.
What she will not do.
Keep using what you asked her to forgetFrom your next message, it is out of the conversation.
Pass off a guess as something you saidHer guesses are labelled as guesses, and she is built to repeat only your own words as fact.
Hide that she is holding something backOn iPhone, the memory screen tells you how many quieter impressions it is not showing, and that she will not act on them.
